Keith Proctor

Dr. Keith Proctor is Prior Navy; he enlisted as engine room mechanic and retired as Occupational Medicine physician. During college studies, he became interested in Industrial Hygiene and in the medical field at about the same time.  After investigating the two disciplines, he realized that Occupational Medicine is an amalgamation of both fields.  Dr. Proctor attended Osteopathic medical school for increased emphasis in musculoskeletal systems.  Graduated from VCOM (Virginia) in 2007, completed residency training in Occupational Medicine at the University of South Florida in 2010, and returned to active duty at the Navy Submarine Base in Groton, Connecticut.  He retired from the Navy, December 2014.

He completed Nova Southeastern Correctional Medicine fellowship 2015 – 2016.  He has continued interest and involvement (peripherally) in Correctional Medicine.  He learned about Y-12 while attending a Radiation Medicine course in Oak Ridge, TN and was introduced to SOMD by the Associate Director of REAC/TS.  Based on interest in the mission of Y-12 and the reputation of the Occupational Health Services Clinic, he pursued an opportunity to join the Consolidated Nuclear Security OHS team in 2016.
